Just one month until the Livery Charity Chairs Conference

The Livery Charity Chairs Group is very pleased that its first ever conference has gone international! Hans Bathija, Master-Elect of the Honourable Company of Freemen of the City of London of North America will be flying in from Toronto to attend the Conference at Ironmongers’ Hall on Monday 6th June.

Bookings in general are also going well. If you haven’t yet secured your place you can access the flyer and application form here. Livery Charity Chairs and Trustees – and Company Masters and Clerks who may well be involved in aspects of their Charity – are all invited to attend.

More information is now available about the speakers for the three main sessions, each of which is chaired by a Steering Committee Member:

  • World Trader Peter Alvey is chairing The Importance of Impact Measurement and Reporting where he will be joined by charity experts Denise Fellows (the Management Consultants’ Company and the Bayes Centre for Charity Effectiveness), Chris Kelly (CEO, The Queen’s Commonwealth Trust) and Ros Oakley (Chief Executive, The Association of Charity Chairs).
  • Glazier Steve Graham is chairing Getting the structure right – might converting to a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) work for you? where he will be joined by Gordon Reid who leads the Charities Team at Moore Barlow where he advises on all aspects of Charity Law and Practice and by Andrea Eccles, Master of the Guild of Human Resource Professionals who have achieved CIO status for their Charity.
  • Innholder Julia Sibley is chairing ESG Investing and Other Climate Issues for Livery Charities where she will be joined by Alderman and Sheriff Alison Gowman and some of the members who helped put together the Guidance Notes on ESG Investments that you can find on the Livery Climate Action Group website at https://liverycag.org.uk/.
