Treloar’s College

The Treloar Trust provides education, care, therapy, medical support and independence training for young people with physical disabilities from all over the UK and overseas. The Trust’s aim is to prepare these young people for adult life, giving them the confidence and skills to achieve their full potential.

Founded in 1907 by the Lord Mayor of London, Treloar’s is a registered charity with income coming from fees paid by local authorities and private funding. Also fundraising of approximately £2 million every year to provide additional therapies, support and equipment to keep Treloar’s at the forefront of education and services for physically disabled people.

The Trust’s overall aim is “To promote the relief of persons with disabilities (whether physical or otherwise) and in particular but without limitation by any or all of the following:

  • The provision and maintenance of schools and colleges.
  • The provision of care, therapy, treatment and counselling to Beneficiaries.
  • The promotion of employment of Beneficiaries by the creation and operation of workshops and facilities.
  • The improvement of knowledge, understanding and awareness of the public into the conditions of life and needs of Beneficiaries.

Mansion House and the Livery continue to support Treloar’s Trust on a regular basis. The Lord Mayor makes an annual visit accompanied by Livery Masters, and a Mansion House Gala fundraising dinner is held every year.
