Root and Branch Award

Established in 2014 to mark the City Livery Club’s Centenary, the Root & Branch Award celebrates outstanding achievement within the Livery movement. It recognises individual Liverymen, or groups of Liverymen who have made an exceptional contribution to the work of their own Livery Company or to the wider Livery community.

The Award was created as a meaningful way for the Club to acknowledge those who demonstrate exemplary commitment, leadership and service across the Livery. Since its inception, over 20 awards of various types have been presented, ranging from the main annual award to Lifetime Achievement Awards, Commendations and Highly Commended certificates.

The first recipient of the Award in 2014 was Tom Ilube CBE, Information Technologist, for his exceptional service to the Livery and the City. That same year, a special one‑off Lifetime Achievement Award was conferred upon Jeffrey Bond, Past Master of the Glaziers’ Company, in recognition of his long-standing and distinguished service.
