A very Merry Christmas from The Lord Mayor and Lady Mayoress

The Rt. Hon. The Lord Mayor of the City of London and the Lady Mayoress have sent a Christmas message to all Livery Companies, the Livery Committee and the Pan-Livery Steering Committee.

The Lord Mayor said –

Both the Lady Mayoress and I would like to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

This year has not been without its challenges, but I have been continually impressed by how the Livery has turned them in to opportunities to spread charity and good will, whether that’s through helping the young and the elderly and those in trades and professions affected by the pandemic or taking to City streets to join me in the Lord Mayor’s Show.

Already, just over a month into the Mayoralty, I feel the wonderful support that only comes from the Livery, and it has been a real pleasure to engage with you all as much as I have in the last few weeks. I am looking forward to spending 2022 working closely with you all and – through the Livery Committee and the Pan-Livery Steering Committee – building on the hard work of the last few years, ensuring that the Livery is stronger and more strategic than ever before.

We hope you spend this time well and get the chance to be close with your friends and family and take a well-deserved rest so that we can come to 2022 refreshed and clear-headed, ready for the challenges – and opportunities – ahead of us.

Vincent Keaveny, The Rt. Hon. The Lord Mayor of the City of London
